SO EXCITED FOR THIS! Watching the trailer brought back so many childhood memories - not all good…or maybe, rather, memories of childhood awkwardness.. yes, I think thats it. It was a bit sad though. My little brother has no recollection whatsoever of this book, even though I’m positive that he read it before. I really thought it was a classic children’s book, one of those must reads whether you were generally into books or not. And memorable. Well, maybe I’ll just re-initiate him at the movie theatre.

Maybe I really am not ready. (…just maybe - will you let me know when I am?)

The opposite of surveillance — French for watching from above — sousveillance refers to watching from below, essentially from beneath the eye in the sky. It’s the equivalent of keeping an eye on the eye.

AHH, I love it when procrastination pays off! I’m SO going to use this in my argument for my English Lit seminar’s term paper.

THANK YOU.

Lies I’ve Told My 3-Year-Old Recently

brightredlemons:misstugui:

Trees talk to each other at night.
All fish are named either Lorna or Jack.
Before your eyeballs fall out from watching too much TV, they get very loose.
Tiny bears live in drain pipes.
If you are very very quiet you can hear the clouds rub against the sky.
The moon and the sun had a fight a long time ago.
Everyone knows at least one secret language.
When nobody is looking, I can fly.
We are all held together by invisible threads.
Books get lonely too.
Sadness can be eaten.
I will always be there.

Optimists seem to be sprinkled with fairy dust. They suffer less and recover quicker. They’re healthier and better-liked and have stronger marriages and more fun. It’s enough to make the rest of us gloomy—except that psychologists believe that a lot of these qualities stem from cognitive habits that can be learned. More than any other major personality trait, optimism is a matter of practice.

Psychology Today: Second Nature

This just makes me more optomistic. Long but well written article.
